Yew ~ Taxus baccata

Yew is one of the few Native British evergreens, an incredibly atmospheric Tree it can live for Thousands of years! The oldest British Yew, the Fortingall at Glen Lyon in Scotland is believed to be between 3000 and 5000 years old!
Sacred to the Goddess Hecate, the Crone Aspect of the Triple Goddess, it is the most Potent Tree for Protection against Evil and Wands made from the wood of a Yew are said to Banish Malevolent Forces

~The 'Goddess' Wand~

This delightful Yew wand measures approx 11 1/4" (28.5cm) in length with a thickness of 1/2" (1.4cm) at its widest point which tapers to a gentle point. This exquisite wand has the most beautiful Heart Wood that runs from its base and then can be seen again at its tip. I have carved a flat section on its Hilt to show this Heartwood and I have pyrographed a Goddess design with her arms held aloft to a Crescent Moon. On the opposite side is the Witches Knot, a symbol for Protection. The rest of the wand is covered with amazing Ebony knots and beautifully seasoned markings! The Yew Tree is dedicated to Hecate, Goddess of the Underworld and Guardian of the other Realm. This wand is ideal to use to Honour Hecate and for all protection and Goddess magic!
